Over 4,850 participants at the world's largest offshore wind energy event:
see who represented which organisations via the attendee look-up

Each of the 23 conference sessions focused on a different aspect of the development of offshore wind: the latest technological advances and technical research; the financial, supply-related and political requirements of rapid, large scale deployment; and the regulatory and administrative barriers which must be overcome.

Delegates gained an insight into research projects, case studies and best practice examples from leading offshore wind countries as well as newly emerging markets.

Andris Piebalgs, European Commissioner for Energy at European Offshore Wind 2009 Conference

"The wind resources over Europe’s seas represent a vast, indigenous source of clean, renewable energy. … They can now be used to generate clean electricity, reduce our foreign dependency and combat climate change"

Andris Piebalgs, European Commissioner for Energy, keynote speaker at European Offshore Wind 2009 Conference

Andreas Nauen, CEO, Siemens Wind Power and European Offshore Wind 2009 Conference Chair

"This conference provides the ideal platform for discussion between all parties regarding necessary action on grids, administrative barriers and international cooperation, with the goal of developing reliable solutions. Only then can we be true partners and take responsibility for a clean energy supply for generations to come. I invite you to support progress in this field by being part of these discussions in Stockholm and look forward to see you at the conference."
