A Greener European Offshore Wind Energy 2009 Conference & Exhibition

EWEA’s commitment to sustainability

The European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) believes that future healthy communities will rely on the successful creation of renewable energy systems and the integration of responsible business practices.

EWEA is committed to:

  • championing the development of a wind industry that is economically, socially and environmentally sustainable;
  • minimising the environmental impact of its operations, communications and events;
  • incorporating sustainability principles and stewardship into the management of the association. Sustainable event assessment – EWEC2009 Report

EWEA strives to inspire responsible action and shall take social and environmental considerations into account in all we do.

Sustainable event assessment – EOW2009 Report

EWEA events are audited by MCI Sustainability Services; who independently verify the actions undertaken by the hotels, venue, catering, food & beverage, the exhibition operations team and transportation suppliers and then benchmark EWEA events against other sustainably managed events.
The sustainable event assessment is intended to be a resource to capture and measure key sustainable aspects of the event planning process, with the aim of identifying potential improvements to reduce the negative environmental impacts of our events.
