Green your travel

If you are concerned about the carbon dioxide emitted by travelling to European Offshore Wind 2009 Conference and Exhibition, why not support a Koru Foundation renewable energy project?

Koru Foundation projects help communities combat the effects of climate change and at the same time improve their access to health, education and employment opportunities.

Unlike many traditional offsetting schemes and because of the unique way the charity is funded, Koru guarantees that 100% of donations for projects is spent entirely on the projects themselves.

Carbon compensation is based on the shadow price of carbon, which is the estimated cost of the damage caused by one tonne of carbon dioxide, calculated independently by the UK Government and set at €30 (£26) per tonne.

To donate go to

Below is an estimation of the cost involved to compensate for your travel, but you may of course donate any amount you wish.

Short haul: €30 (£26) compensates for up to one tonne of carbon dioxide which would cover most short haul return flights to Stockholm from all European destinations for one person.

Long haul: €100 (£86) compensates for up 3.3 tonnes of carbon dioxide which would cover most long haul return flights to Stockholm for one person.
